2015 BTF Season END!!!!!
As the 2015 Season comes to
an end, we are sad and happy for a little break. I’m not sure how much of a
break as many of my riders will continue racing local series, out of the
country series and I will be dialing in my quads for next season, which is also
my retirement year.
We very proud of Kirkland
Jack, of New Port Richey, Florida after holding on to the points lead in the
450B class. Kirkland had 8 podiums in this class and 4 overall wins. He ended
up getting 2nd in both motos, resulting in a podium 2nd
at Loretta’s this past weekend. Kirkland ended up 3rd overall in the
Production B class, with 3 podiums in this class throughout the season and 1
overall win. Kirkland ended up 4th overall this weekend in the
Production B class.

Vital Cazenave, of Argentina
finished his 1st full year in the AMA ATV Pro class. He ended up 8th
overall in points. Vital ended up
getting 12th overall in the Pro class this past weekend at
Loretta’s. Vital ended up 6th
overall in points the Pro Am class for 2015. He ended up getting 5th
overall this weekend in that class. Vital plans to go home to Argentina and
take some time off before getting ready for the big beach race in February,
also known as EDV.

Jace Johnson, of Junction
City, Oregon got a little taste of the heat and humidity that Loretta’s is
known for. Although he didn’t have the
results he was hoping for, he now has something to aspire and train for. Coming
from Oregon where the weather is so much different, Jace’s biggest battle will
be getting used to the wet, muggy weather conditions. His family hopes to have Jace attend all the
races in 2016 in the AMA ATV Nationals, under the wing of Joe Byrd. Jace currently races the Quadcross NW series
where he is 2nd in points for both the Pro-Am and Pro class. Jace is only 4
points behind the leader in Pro-Am and 8 points behind in the Pro class. It’s
going to be a fun and interesting last round at Washougal, Washington on
September 12th and 13th, where they will have a double
header for points, and the Championship will be given out.

Joe Byrd didn’t have the
weekend he was wanting, after his motor not being up to par and not enough time
to get another one put together, Joe put in his 3 year old detuned motor that
he took out of his practice quad. With
Loretta’s being so close to his house and it being the last race of the year,
he had no other choice but to go and make the best out of a bad situation. To
our surprise in Moto 2, Joe was able to pull out a holeshot in the Pro Moto 2.
Joe will be making a lot of changes for his retirement year in 2016. We would
like to thank all our sponsors over the last 30 years. If you would like to
contact Joe for lessons, please do so at joebyrdschool@hotmail.com, he travels all over for schools. Also keep in mind
that although Joe isn’t on the top of the podium, this year, he is still a very
sought after teacher and the original Quad teacher. Just because a racer is the
current Champion or top racer, doesn’t mean they know how to teach skills to
you or your children.

AMA ATVA Nationals at Lorettas Lynn's August 8th, 2015
Loretta Lynn's is always the last race of the season, well usually!! Am I looking forward to it? Yes and No... Its so close to home and lots of familiar faces I want to see and for the last time before next season. It's gonna be super hot, so everyone stay hydrated. I would love to go there and win my 7th National Pro Race at Lorettas Dude Ranch, 7 is my lucky number after all, but I am not 100% ready, unfortunately! I was more ready in December and January than I am now. I have had 5 races where I was docked positions, had my qualifying results taken away, not allowed to race the 2nd moto and Disqualified and yes this is just this year. I was not motivated to attend Redbud, as I have attended 9 races at that point and was messed with on 5 of them. I will be at Loretta's to watch and cheer on fellow racers and friends, I may even race, but thats yet to be decided.
It's unfortunate that our sport is headed in the direction it is and lacks the support of the big Factories. I have been racing for 30 years professionally and have never seen it as bad as it is right now, thats even including the hybrid days!! I am hoping for Honda and Suzuki to come out with something new and fast, as there has to be light at the end of the tunnel for all these kids growing up in the amateur classes (as well as the parents dishing out so much money). Otherwise, we will lose them to dirt bikes, go-carts, trophy trucks, etc. I don't know where I am going with this, other than things have got to chance and fast or we will have no new blood and maybe thats what some people want? Anyways hope to watch some fu band exciting races at Loretta's in less than 2 weeks!!! See everyone there.
If you need to get ahold of me for school, quads, training, or questions, please email me at joebyrdschool@hotmail.com

Springcreek MX
Team Joe Byrd had a respectable weekend in Millville, MN at Springcreek
MX on June 27th and 28th.
Kirkland Jack, of New Port Richey, Florida had an impressive weekend,
pulling 3 out of 4 Holeshots between 450B and Production B. Jack won the 450B
class and got 4th overall in Production B. Jack is currently holding
the points in 450B and looking for the class championship this year.
Vital Cazenave, of Argentina is doing very well for his “Rookie” year
in the Pro class. Cazenave ended up wrecking in Moto 1 of the Pro class but was
able to pull out an 8th overall. In Pro-AM class Cazenave got 3rd
in Moto 1 and 4th in Moto 2, making for a 2nd place
Podium finish. Cazenave is currently 3rd in points in the Pro-AM
class and only 16 points behind the leader. He is hoping to walk away with the
class Championship win as well.
Joe Byrd had a rollercoaster of emotions weekend, having never raced
Springcreek, he was ecstatic to finally make it there Thursday. During 2nd
Qualifying practice on Saturday, Byrd realized that his quad was having some
issues… It was leaking oil everywhere and the engine kept cutting out during
qualifying making it hard to jump all the jumps and push it as hard as he would
have liked too. Byrd ended up qualifying 13th and had to hurry and
make some changes before Moto 1. Byrd has gone 90% of this season without a
mechanic and he did not have a spare engine with him. After all the struggles
and the let down of not thinking the motor was going to make it through Moto 1,
Byrd being the veteran he is and the oldest rider in the class was able to baby
it through both Motos and had a 5th place overall finish for the
weekend.
We are proud of all our riders and look forward to seeing everyone in Unadilla
for Round 8.

TIRE BLOCKS!!!!
I recently tried Tire blocks and LOVE them! They help a lot with what you feel in your suspension (my major issue for years) , as well as your handle bars! To find out more info on them go to your website http://www.ridetireblocks.com/ , you will not regret it!
Quadcross NW, Albany, Oregon
Team Joe Byrd is proud to be
attending one of the Newest, Fastest Growing Quad Series in the Northwest!
Quadcross Nw was established at the end of 2011 by a few families looking to
bring the ATV and UTV Racing back to the Pacific Northwest. Their mission is to
preserve our sport for future generations.
It is really a great series and I would love to see it grow even more
and get more recognition. I know when I was there spectating last September
they were barely breaking even at each event and are always looking for more
sponsors or Enthusiasts that love the Sport of ATV Racing. They have several
“rookie” racers that have only been racing since the series began in 2011 and
several of those riders have made there way out to a few of The National
Series. Joe will be attending Round 5 on
June 20th, in Albany, Oregon, along with teaching a school to any rider racing or not racing on June
18th and 19th.
Contact Joe at joebyrdschool@hotmail.com for more info or
to sign up! Look forward to seeing familiar faces, along with some new ones!

Quadcross Nw has some Great up and coming Riders!
Union City, TN (5/6/2015) - Team Joe Byrd is very excited about up and coming racer, Jace Johnson of Junction City, Oregon and his quad riding school at Albany MX.
The 18 year old is starting his 3rd year of racing and starting to make a name for himself. He mostly participates in Quadcross Northwest , a fairly new series, that’s really starting to grow in popularity.
Joe had the opportunity to train with Jace some in January in Arizona and recently at Byrd’s Training Facility in Union City, TN. Byrd sees a lot of potential and natural talent in this rider. Jace raced the Opening Race for this series at the double-header weekend on April 25th and 26th at Horn Rapids MX Park in Richland, WA. After racing 8 motos during that weekend, he was able to walk away with Pro-Am overall win on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as 2nd overall in the Pro class on both days.
Check out the Jace Johnson Racing Facebook Page to see photos.
Jace and his family are happy going in to the series leading in points in the Pro-Am class as well as a very respectable 2nd in points in the Pro class. They are busy making preparation for Rounds 3&4 at Straddeline ORV Parkin SW Washington, as well as fine tuning his race machine.
Joe is excited to come to www.AlbanyMX.com in Albany, Oregon for a Riding School on June 18th-20th to work more with Jace as well as all the other Quadcross NW racers and/or local recreational riders that want to learn to go faster and work on safe riding techniques.
