Echeconnee Motorcross AMA Nationals Round 1

Team BTF made a great appearance in Echeconnee MX Track in Lizella, GA during the 1^st Round of the AMA ATVMX National Championship. After a very wet and stormy Saturday evening, track officials decided to cancel Sundays Moto 2 races and things were judged a little differently than normal.

Vital Cazenave an Argentinan native raced both Pro and Pro AM. On Saturday during the Pro race Vital got 8^th in Moto 1 and 9^th in Moto 2, with an overall finish of 8^th. On Sunday, after only racing Moto 1 because of the bad weather, Vital came out first in the Holeshot and held onto it until the checkered flag!! Vital ended up with 1^st place and started the season off leading the class in points.

Kirkland Jack, of New Port Richey Florida, raced 450B and Production B. In 450B class Kirkland came out 2^nd on the Holeshot and worked his way up to first, there was no 2^nd Moto and he had the fastest heat earlier that day, so he got 1^st overall. Kirkland is leading the points in 450B, In Production B, Kirkland, came out of the gate 17^th and quickly worked his way up to 2^nd for Moto 1 and with there being no 2^nd Moto, his heat was judged, making him get 3^rd overall for the weekend.

Joe Byrd felt good going into the event. However the event wasn’t so nice to Joe. From the first qualifier, having suspension and radiator problems. To the first Moto breaking his engine and chain. It was a very frustrating weekend for Big Byrd.

Through out it all, Joe Byrd had good sportsmanship, as fellow rider and friend, John Natalie had a crash and he ran by boot to check him out!!

Cam Covil raced Pro Am should have got 2^nd, but due to a poor choice in sprockets, he found himself broke down 2 turns from the finish line.

Team BTF goes BIG for Daytona!!!

Team BTF goes BIG For Daytona!!!

This First ATV SX at Daytona turned out to be a stellar experience. It was so awesome to race at the same venue as several legends have!! Team BTF had admirable results. Joe Byrd, came out of the gates in Heat 1 and got tangled up with Weinen and Upperman in the Holeshot turn, he quickly got untangled and came out 6^th then worked himself up to 2^nd for the Heat #1 finish. After getting 4^th gate pick for the Main Event, Joe Byrd started good with his Dasa powered Honda but got stuffed into the same turn as the first Heat, he then went from mid pack for 4^th place finish. Team BTF is happy with a 4^th place finish, considering all the bad weather in Tennessee and we scrambled to get the race bike thrown together and dialed in just days before Daytona. Joe is hoping to have his quad all dialed in by Round 1 at

Echeconnee MX on March 21^st.

Rookie in the Pro Class, Vital Cazanave got a respectable 6^th in the first heat and ended up finishing 9^th in the Main Event.

Cam Covil raced the ProAm class after being off for 8 months, after a back injury at the Nationals in Ohio… He ended winning his heat, but after his girlfriend wrecked in her heat, he decided to not race the Main Event since it wasn’t for points and went to the hospital with her. We look forward to seeing this young man do great things in the near future.

Kirkland Jack, raced a 450 for the first time in Nationals. He ran Production B and 450B. In the first heat for 450B the track was really muddy and he crashed on the 1^st lap passing for 2^nd. In the heat for Production B he was 4^th on the start and worked his way back up the pack and won. In the Main Event for 450B he had a bad gate pick and tried to work his way up to the very front, but ended up getting 2^nd. In the Main Event for Production B he pulled the Holeshot and checked out.

Dylan Messenger raced Pro Sport and Pro Am and got landed on in Pro Sport and his quad was taken out. In Pro Am, Dylan made his debut and ended up finishing in 7^th.

We look forward to seeing where the guys go this 2015 Season!!!
